Through interviews, workshops, and creative engagement initiatives, you’ve helped to bring our local story together. Now, you’re invited to get a sneak peek of the results and conclusions, and have your say in what we’ve come up with.Over the past few months, we've been working hard to answer the question, "What makes Frontenac, Frontenac?", as we seek to write our tourism brand story.
We've done interviews, workshops, creative events and a survey, to hear your answers to that million-dollar question. So, what did we do with all of that input? We've written a few core elements, but before making any big commitments to our interpretation of your ideas, we wanted to get your take...on our take...of your take!
Click here to learn about the project so far.
See the Ideas section for a preview of key elements, and let us know what you think & how it makes you feel. The feedback period closes Nov. 28, 2022.
Thank you for your contribution!

The County of Frontenac is seeking community participation in the kick-off a tourism brand expansion project.
The brand expansion project comes following Council’s approval of a new Destination Development Plan, which recommends Frontenac define its voice and tourism brand narrative as a foundational step to long-term, sustainable success in enhancing the local visitor economy. Initiatives are being led by the County’s Economic Development team, and supported by partners tante consulting inc., a tourism development firm, and B4brand Consulting Group Inc., a branding, marketing and storytelling agency.
A community walk and talk in Sydenham is scheduled for Oct. 6 starting at 5 pm at the Kingston, Frontenac Public Library in Sydenham, and a paint night, led by Wolfe Island Gallery will take place on Oct. 5 at 7 pm on Wolfe Island. Each event will include opportunities for dialogue and informal conversation about the Frontenac brand – What does the County represent from a tourism perspective, and how do we tell our story? There is no fee for participation, though capacity is limited for both events. More information can be found on the Engage Frontenac webpage. Individuals who are not able to participate in-person are invited to respond to an online survey about the Frontenac brand, also available on the Engage Frontenac webpage.
“We want to meaningfully connect and resonate with visitors & prospective visitors through enhancements to our existing brand, with a particular focus on storytelling,” said Debbi Miller, Community Development Officer. “We know that the best way to do that is through our vibrant and warm community, which is why we are creating these opportunities for conversation, in fun and engaging settings.”
These activities will help to shape what exactly the brand expansion will look like, and participants will be invited to review and provide feedback on the preliminary results before the project is finalised. For more information and updates, visit the Engage Frontenac website.
