The Eagle Creek Bridge is a bridge structure located on Bob’s Lake Road approximately 2.2 km north of Buck Bay Road. The single lane structure is believed to have been built in the mid 1940’s. The existing bridge is a rigid frame concrete structure with a span of 5.4 m and a deck width of 3.9 m.
OSIM inspections completed in 2023 and 2025 currently recommend that the structure be given priority for full replacement. The structure inspection from 2025 rated the structure with a Bridge Condition Index of 30.4 (Poor) and the structure was listed as a 2025 priority in the 5-year plan endorsed by Township Council on May 2, 2023.
Recommended work currently includes:
Demolition of the existing structure
Construction of new pour in place footings
Installation of a new prefabricated concrete bridge structure (two lane width)
New traffic approaches and roadside barrier systems
Paving of deck and approaches
The planned rehabilitation work in 2026 will offer a life expectancy of 75 years and aligns with the recommendations within the Asset Management Plan.
This project is categorized as “Exempt” under the 2024 Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process and is considered a pre-approved construction project under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
Further information on the selected contractor and start dates will be provided on this web page. Notices will also be issued to properties in immediate proximity of the project.
