Our Strategic Plan is a key document that defines what matters to us most and our vision and priorities for the next four years. Our Township is rapidly growing and changing. This plan will be our guide for everything we do, from the priorities we set, to the decisions we make and the actions we take.

Council approved our new Strategic Plan on December 5, 2023. We'd like to thank everyone who provided input into the plan.

Read the full plan document (an accessible version is also available in the documents pane).

Hi Kathy. We don't have a RS zone in our current zoning bylaw. We have a RLS which stands for Residential Limited Services and RLWS which is Residential Limited Services Waterfront. Where did you see this?

Hi Jeff. Thanks for your question. We think you may be thinking of our Official Plan.

The Strategic Plan will help guide decision-making, set priorities, and focus the Township’s efforts on areas of strategic change over the next four years.  It is different from the Official Plan, which guides how the community should grow and develop over a 25 year period. The Township is still working on its new Official Plan.  After the new Official Plan is adopted, we will begin reviewing the zoning by-law to determine if we need a new zoning by-law to implement the new Official Plan, or if the current one can be updated.

A minor variance that is granted from a requirement of a zoning by-law is only applicable to that zoning by-law.  Zoning by-laws include a transition period for building permits that were issued under the old zoning by-law, but not for minor variances from the old zoning by-law. This means a minor variance would become null and void when a new zoning by-law is passed. Hope this helps. If you have questions on your specific situation, we'd encourage you to email planning@southfrontenac.net.
