In celebration of Major-General Richard Rohmer's 100th birthday, Jan 24
As we commemorate this remarkable milestone, we reflect on Major-General Richard Rohmer's extraordinary contributions not only to Canada but to paramedicine.
He was the first honorary Chief of the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs. In that role, he helped educate the public and raise the profile of the profession. He is a mentor, guide, and inspiration to generations of paramedics, instilling in them the values of excellence, courage, and compassion.
We at Frontenac Paramedics have especially fond memories from 2019 when Gen. Rohmer visited Kingston to bestow the Governor General’s Exemplary Service Medal - Second Bar upon Frontenac Paramedic Dale Hodgins.
Please join us in wishing Gen. Rohmer a very Happy 100th birthday!
PS. If you're not familiar with Gen. Rohmer, he has an amazing life story: war hero, lawyer, author, to name but a few of his achievements. His autobiography, Generally Speaking: The Memoirs of Major-General Richard Rohmer, is an excellent read.
