2024 Frontenac County Business Award

The Frontenac County Business Awards honour and celebrate people who build and operate businesses in Frontenac. These businesses embody the spirit of community building and mutually beneficial collaboration needed for our robust and growing local economy in Frontenac County.

As well as the distinction, winners receive a physical award designed and created by a local Frontenac artist that depicts the artists interpretation of the Frontenac brand. They also receive an award seal they may display on their website or social media channels.

Businesses that won a Frontenac County Business Award in 2023 are not eligible to win the same award in 2024. These businesses are able to be nominated and win an award in a different category.

The 5 Frontenac County Business Award Categories

The Frontenac County Business of the Year Award

Nominees are business operators who demonstrate the spirit of Frontenac County through their overall excellence in entrepreneurship, community connection, or leadership and mentorship.

The New Business Award

Nominees are business operators in Frontenac who have made significant impacts on commerce in our region with new ventures. Nominees exhibit qualities of community participation, innovation, and leadership. Eligible nominees have operated their new business for more than one year but fewer than three.

The Partnership and Collaboration Award

Nominees are business operators in Frontenac who distinguish themselves by working together with other business operators in our region to bring new products, services, and experiences to market; or by developing innovative and mutually beneficial methods, approaches, or resources among business operators in Frontenac.

The Sustainability Award

Nominees are business operators in Frontenac who demonstrate through their work and business a commitment to preserving and protecting the natural environment that makes Frontenac County so special.

The Women-led Business Award

Nominees are women entrepreneurs in Frontenac, they distinguish themselves through their innovation, entrepreneurship, excellence in customer service, and overall success. Women-Led Business Award nominees demonstrate leadership in all they do in the Frontenac community.

  • Frontenac County Business of the Year Award

    This award will go to the business that best embodies the spirit of Frontenac County. 

    This business demonstrates the following: 

    • Collaboration with other businesses. 

    • Support for the promotion of Frontenac County.  

    • Offering a contribution to the Frontenac community in one or multiple ways, including through community connection, marketing and promotion, leadership, mentorship, and support of other businesses in our community.

  • New Business Award

    New Business Award

    Please review the criteria for the award when nominating a business.  

    This award will go to a new business in Frontenac that has been open no less than one year and no more than three years. A new business in Frontenac that has made an impact on our community.  

    This business demonstrates the following: 

    • A strong sense of community, innovation, and leadership.  

    • A culture of trail-blazing.  

    • Achieved success through their unique business.  

    • Frontenac approach to business.

    This award will go to celebrate the business who demonstrates success by working together with other businesses or community organizations in Frontenac.  Partnerships and collaboration are the foundation of innovation and connections for Ambassadors in Frontenac.

    This business demonstrates the following: 

    • A connection with other businesses and community organizations.  

    • New local products or experiences they are part of.

    • Offerings to the public or innovative ideas to work collaboratively. 

    • Support the community, other businesses, or organizations through operational successes.

    Sustainability Award

    Please review the criteria for the award when nominating a business.  

    Sustainability Award nominees are business operators in Frontenac who demonstrates through their work and business, a commitment to preserving and protecting the natural environment that makes Frontenac County so special.

    Sustainability covers many areas and could include one or more of the following:

    • environmental stewardship,
    • sustainable design of lands or buildings, 
    • climate action, 
    • sustainable sourcing of products, 
    • social responsibility, 
    • use of environmental or 'green' practices within your business.
