  • 1:15-1:30 p.m. - Fireside Break

  • 1:30 – 2:15 p.m. - Campfire Chat – Storytelling and your experiences - Experience a hands-on demonstration from Sarah Sproule of Wayeskad operating a traditional trapline in North Frontenac. During this session Sarah will share a beaver skinning experience they offer to their visitors. Note: This will be done outside

There is no blood, the beaver has been previously frozen.

  • 2:30-3 p.m. Campfire Chat – Business Support in Frontenac Panelists - Frontenac Business Services - Shaunis Sakell, Invest Kingston - Norman Musengimana, Ontario’s Highland Tourism Organization - Kasey Rogerson, Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade - Kent Fitzhugh, Regional Tourism Organization (RTO9) - Bonnie Ruddock

  • 3 – 3:30 p.m. - Campfire Chat – Business on Wolfe Island - A discussion about operating a business on Wolfe Island. Panelists - Annelise & Caitlin from Fishtale Gifts & Goods/Lured Bake Shop, Kate & James from Blue Moose B&B/Jean & Aggies Ice Cream Shoppe.

  • 3:30-4 p.m. - Frontenac Ambassador Program - Learn about the Ambassador Program. Share your ideas.

  • 4 – 4:30 p.m. - Networking – Cash bar, snacks and refreshments

  • 4:30-5:15 p.m. – Campfire Chat – Thinking local, living local, supporting local. A panel discussion around all things local and how these businesses think local, live local and support local. Panelists - Tarra, Bloom Farm & Frontenac Farmers Market, Roland, Grains & Goods Bakery, Brad, Belong Sharbot Lake.

  • 5:15-5:45 p.m. - Networking – Cash bar, snacks and refreshments

  • 5:45 p.m. - Photo

  • 6 p.m. - Frontenac County 2024 Business Award Presentations & Celebrations

The anonymous selection committee will be scoring the nominations.

  • Winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the
  • Frontenac County Business Retreat & Awards at RKY Camp.

The Frontenac County Business Awards honour and celebrate people who build and operate businesses in Frontenac. These businesses embody the spirit of community building and mutually beneficial collaboration needed for our robust and growing local economy in Frontenac County.

As well as the distinction, winners receive a physical award designed and created by a local Frontenac artist that depicts the artists interpretation of the Frontenac brand. They also receive an award seal they may display on their website or social media channels.

Businesses that won a Frontenac County Business Award in 2023 are not eligible to win the same award in 2024. These businesses are able to be nominated and win an award in a different category.

  • The Frontenac Business Retreat & Awards are taking place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at RKY Camp in Parham.
