The purpose of this project is to consult with staff across the Frontenacs about EngageFrontenac.ca. The aim is to determine the best use of our collective vendor-supplied training hours for 2026, and to identify areas where additional support and information sharing among staff may be useful.
EngageFrontenac.ca was launched in early 2021. The stated aim is to provide an online environment and suite of tools specifically to encourage constituents to engage with and participate in the business of civic government at the Townships and the County.
Staff have so far published more than 150 EngageFrontenac.ca projects. The site has recorded more than 152,000 visits. Although user registration isn't required for most features on the site, almost 950 people - approximately one in three permanent residents in Frontenac - have registered on the site.
There are three main benefits to EngageFrontenac.ca:
It provides an online environment and sets of pathways for constituents to participate in the business of municipal government.
It provides a discrete environment and engagement ecosystem for each municipal project or initiative.
It provides standardized tools and methods for collecting, analyzing, and presenting constituent sentiment to Councils and others for the purpose of informing decision making.
There are further advantages to the platform for staff:
It provides an intuitive and easy-to-learn way for any member of staff to autonomously design, build, publish, edit, and update project pages; as well as to invite, collect, analyze, and present engagement results. This is all without requiring ongoing support from a technical support team.
It is stable, reliable, secure, and complaint with our respective regulatory obligations.
It provides a standardized style and architecture among projects.
