Frontenac Destination Development Plan
Thank you to everyone that has participated and offered your time and valuable input on the Frontenac County Destination Development Plan.
A Destination Development Plan is a 5-10 year road map that aligns government, economic development, community and tourism priorities. It addresses the interactions between visitors, the industry that serves them, the community that hosts them, and the environment in order to deliver a more sustainable and equitable year-round local economy.
Ultimately, the Plan is designed to protect and enhance the character of the destination, increase destination competitiveness and visitor spend, and optimize overall quality of life for local residents. The goal is to help ensure that everyone in the destination has an opportunity to benefit from, and contribute to, the local visitor economy.
Also, the Plan integrates strategic initiatives through the lens of economic, social, cultural and environmental sustainability to help ensure the Plan is embraced by the community.

gentilrover 2 years agoReduce red tape
Frontenac County should cut unnecessary regulations, fees and onerous approval processes wherever possible to encourage investment. It should also advocate for the province to do the same. Developers, investors, small businesses are drowning in red tape and government-related costs. As a small business, I see government as the main threat to our financial health as new regulations and costs seem to be constantly brought forward.

Incentives to small business to locate here and/or expand existing operations. Incentives could be grants, loans, reduced taxes, reduced or waived development charges or other approval fees.

0 comment0Mainland_newfieover 2 years agoIt would be great to be different than kingston by keeping builds to larger lots of 1 to 2 acres to keep the country charm of SF.
The charm of the area is that it's not compact and one big cluster. We left kingston due to how close all the houses are. The beauty of South frontenac is how spacious it is. If you over build then it will for sure lose its charm and along with it the great sense of community that comes with having that extra space from your neighbor.
