Update to the Charter for Economic Development
Frontenac County presents the updated draft of the Charter for Economic Development. This revision builds on extensive consultations to guide our economic strategy, focusing on four key areas:
- Economic Infrastructure: The charter aims to strengthen infrastructure to support economic activities and ensure widespread broadband access, which are essential for a resilient business environment and enhancing residents' quality of life.
- Housing: The charter highlights the need to create diverse housing options to attract professionals and support growth, contributing to the county's economic development.
- Food & Beverage: This area focuses on supporting the local food ecosystem and enhancing culinary tourism, which are crucial for economic growth and establishing Frontenac as a destination for dining and agricultural experiences.
- Tourism: Development efforts are aimed at leveraging natural assets to promote tourism, which includes enhancing access and connections between recreational, culinary, and cultural experiences throughout the county.

The Committee endorsed the update and recommended that it be posted online for feedback for a minimum of 30 days.
