We are starting to prepare the Township’s 2025 budget. The budget is more than just dollars and cents – it impacts you through the programs and services you receive and is considered to be one of the Township's most important strategic documents, serving as a guide for everything that we do. Each time you enjoy a local park or beach, have your garbage and recycling collected, or use a recently plowed or repaired road, you are seeing your tax dollars at work.
It is South Frontenac's goal to provide a balance of services that improve the quality of life for all our residents, while also ensuring we have the organizational capacity to deliver cost-effective services in a changing world.
Have your Say!
We’re asking all residents to take a short survey between September 4 and October 11, 2024. Your input will help Council make informed decisions and we’ll share the results with Council and all residents. Take the 2025 Budget Survey.

The Township of South Frontenac currently manages over 800km of roadways, 195km of which are maintained with a gravel surface. The Public Services Department takes technical guidance from the Ministry of Transportation Pavement Design and Rehabilitation Manual (2013) when considering the surface selection for roadways. This provincial guideline recommends that gravel surfaces be utilized for rural local roadways with average annual daily traffic (AADT) volumes of 200 vehicles or less per day. The most recent traffic counts for Tett Crescent indicate that the current AADT is in the order of 88 vehicles per day. Tett Crescent would not be considered a high priority for hard surfacing once evaluated against other gravel roads in the network. Recent reconstruction costs for upgrading a gravel road to hard surfaced (chip sealed) are in the order of $275,000/km.
