Community Preview: Strategic Action Plan for Sharbot Lake Downtown Revitalization

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the development of the Strategic Action Plan for Sharbot Lake. Our community has shown incredible passion and commitment by completing important surveys, participating in workshops, and submitting unique ideas and initiatives.
You are invited to preview the Strategic Action Plan and Design Concepts Guide.
This Public Preview exercise marks the final public consultation in the Downtown Revitalization program.
The feedback and contributions provided will be thoughtfully considered by the Committee as they work to complete final revisions, seek Council endorsement, and move from planning into the long-term implementation phase.

Eventually ALL vehicles will be electric powered. Sharbot Lake should have its own refuel station.
The lot where the school used to stand should be suitable for solar panels for the station.

I think this is a great idea, this potential employee may want to be considered a contract employee with a specific time contract.
I think each potential partner should be reached out to individually to see what they can support, may get better buy in.

3) Provide the community with accessible, safe, and well-maintained routes, and public municipal facilities.
Activity 3.1: Complete additional analysis and studies to create safe, well-defined parking lots, boat launches and trail connections, improving safety and accessibility.
Activity 3.2: Investigate the conditions of the Beach Public Washroom infrastructure to determine what is required to improve their appearance, capacity, safety, and accessibility.
Activity 3.3: Initiate a Steering Committee to ideate programming and partnerships for the Trailhead Building, and to support staff in applying for grants for funding that would be required to complete the construction of the building.

This is a large undertaking, in terms of Accessibility, I would recommend some type of education and awareness campaign
As the community should be compliant by 2025, we have a lot of buildings that are not compliant, we do not have appropriate accessible cross walks especially in front of seniors home and on other places on busy 38 highway

Regarding washrooms: 1) We also need change rooms and maybe lockable lockers; 2) Please also study VENTING to deal with the odours.

Activity 4.1: Develop a planting plan and implement an ongoing investment and maintenance policy for trees and landscaping in the village.
Activity 4.2: Promote financial aid and cost-sharing programs that are intended to support community-led initiatives and encourage creative and cultural expression in the downtown.
Activity 4.3: Engage in discussions with local internet service providers to sponsor Public Wi-Fi for the Beach, Downtown, Trailhead and Railway Park.
