What is Qi Gong?

    Qi Gong is a 4000 year-old ancient Chinese wellness practice that has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an elegant meditative practice that combines gentle movement, breath, and meditation to create a calm natural balance of energy in body and mind. The best part is that it’s easy and can be practiced standing up or sitting down at any time of the day.

    Did you know that the better-known Tai Chi is a form of Qi Gong? The Qi Gong practices shared are a combination of traditional and modern Qi Gong.

    It's exercise suitable for people for all ages and capabilities. 

    Who will lead the Qu Gong sessions?

    The sessions will be lead by Qi Gong educator, Hang Nhan, proprietor of saigon om in Kingston. 

    What is the purpose of the program?

    The Qi Gong sessions are intended as a way for senior members of the Frontenac community to c9onnect and visit with Fairmount residents while engaging in mutually supportive physical activities.

    Do I need to be a Fairmount Home resident or family member to participate?

    No. All are welcome to attend. The Qi Gong program is specifically tailored to people of all physical abilities who are 65+. 

    How demanding and vigorous is the Qi Gong program?

    The physical part of the program is suitable for people of all physical capabilities. Participants may be standing or seated and may participate at their own pace and intensity. 

    What should I bring?

    It is advised to bring water with you and to come prepared in loose, comfortable fitting clothes. You may participate barefoot or in well fitting shoes.
