Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments

OPA/ZBLA Application

The Township has received additional information for the proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-Law Amendment for the Ompah Palmerston Cottage Co-operative which is available to view under Reports - Submitted September 2024 (Second Submission).

The Township is still waiting to receive a response on the Information Gathering Form (for activities that may affect species or habitat protected under the Endangered Species Act) that was submitted by the applicant to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, and Parks (MECP). Staff are also waiting on feedback from the Township’s biologist on the peer reviews of the applicant’s Environmental Impact Study that were prepared by third parties. Information about this feedback will be included in a future staff report to Council.

An application for an Official Plan Amendment has been submitted to redesignate a property described as Part Lot 30, Concession 4, Part Parcel A, Palmerston Lake, Geographic Township of Palmerston (1099A & 1099B Lafolia Lane) from Rural Area to Rural Cooperative Area. This is a map change to facilitate the redesignation of the subject property and the establishment of a rural cooperative known as Ompah Palmerston Cottages Rural Cooperative.


Zoning By-law Amendment - File #Z08/22

An application for a Zoning By-Law Amendment has been submitted to rezone the same property from Limited Service Waterfront (LSW) and Limited Service Rural (LSR) to a site-specific Rural Co-operative Exception Zone (CO-X1).

PLEASE NOTE: The Draft Official Plan Amendment By-law and Zoning By-law Amendment By-law can be found under Public Notice. The list of uses included in the Zoning By-law Amendment may be refined following the review of the technical comments, public comments and comments from the applicants.


These applications have been submitted to permit the establishment of a family based rural cooperative known as 'Ompah Palmerston Cottages Rural Cooperative'.
