At the meeting on November 21, 2025, the Council of North Frontenac refused the application to amend the Township’s Official Plan and Zoning By-law to permit a Rural Cooperative Exception Designation. The applicants submitted an appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal For further information regarding the appeal, please visit the OLT website.

Please be advised Council will be considering the above noted Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment applications at the November 21, 2025 Council Meeting. The Agenda will include a planning report and will be posted on the Township’s website at https://northfrontenac.civicweb.net/portal/. Official Plan Amendment - File #OPA 01/22

An application for an Official Plan Amendment has been submitted to redesignate a property described as Part Lot 30, Concession 4, Part Parcel A, Palmerston Lake, Geographic Township of Palmerston (1099A & 1099B Lafolia Lane) from Rural Area to Rural Cooperative Area. This is a map change to facilitate the redesignation of the subject property and the establishment of a rural cooperative known as Ompah Palmerston Cottages Rural Cooperative.


Zoning By-law Amendment - File #Z08/22

An application for a Zoning By-Law Amendment has been submitted to rezone the same property from Limited Service Waterfront (LSW) and Limited Service Rural (LSR) to a site-specific Rural Co-operative Exception Zone (CO-X1).

PLEASE NOTE: The Draft Official Plan Amendment By-law and Zoning By-law Amendment By-law can be found under Public Notice. The list of uses included in the Zoning By-law Amendment may be refined following the review of the technical comments, public comments and comments from the applicants.


These applications have been submitted to permit the establishment of a family based rural cooperative known as 'Ompah Palmerston Cottages Rural Cooperative'.
