Antoine Creek Bridge Replacement

We’re pleased to share that Frontenac County has contracted Crains' Construction for the replacement of the Antoine Creek Bridge on the K&P Trail, located in an unopened section of the K&P Trail located near Snow Road Station. This project will adapt an existing bridge with at 20 tonne capacity for use at this location. Once complete, this two-kilometer segment of the K&P Trail can open for Snowmobile use during the 2025-26 Winter season and sets the stage for future rehabilitation in 2026.
Construction is expected to begin on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Budget:
The total project budget is $77,030 including permitting, engineering, bridge purchase and installation. Contributions to the project are as follows:
- Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs: $29,380
- Snow Road Snowmobile Club: $5,000
- Frontenac A.T.V Club: $5,000
- County of Frontenac: $37,650 (OCIF Program allocation)
The Snow Road Snowmobile Club will be brushing this section in preparation of construction equipment, an in-kind value of $5,000.
Timeline:
September 2025 – Finalize funding, permits, and contractor logistics
October 2025 – Bridge installation and post-installation engineering review
November 2025 – Final adjustments and trail prep
December 2025 – Trail opens for the 2025–2026 snowmobile season
Outcomes:
Once the bridge is in place, the Snowmobile route along Road 509 will be mostly eliminated, improving safety and restoring full connectivity of the OFSC “E” Trunk Trail. This section also anchors regional trail loops for cycling, snowmobiling and ATV:
- Cycling: Eastern Ontario Rail Trail Loop
- Snowmobile: Rails & Trails Ontario East Loop
- ATV: Quad Counties Loop
