Project Update: Focus Groups

Frontenac County successfully held four focus groups to discuss the County’s new economic development priorities with local stakeholders.

Taking place on Wednesday, May 25 and Thursday, May 26, 2022 across the Frontenac townships, these sessions were run by the Economic Development team at Frontenac County, led by Richard Allen, and a team of consultants from Explorer Solutions, led by Jason Kipfer.

The hybrid sessions included a mix of 26 local business owners and stakeholders, municipal staff, and other partners that each brought their own unique ideas and perspectives through both online and in person platforms.

The engagement sessions highlighted the need to review Frontenac County’s 2015 Charter for Economic Development and update it to reflect the County’s current needs and priorities. The active discussions produced from these sessions indicated the priorities stakeholders felt necessary for Frontenac County to grow and prosper in the coming years.

A follow-up survey was circulated to those that were invited for the opportunity to offer additional input.

Explorer Solutions and the Frontenac County Economic Development Team will present a draft update to the Charter for Economic Development based on the results of these discussions at a forthcoming virtual meeting, date to be determined as of yet.

Thank you to everyone that took the time to participate.
