2024 Zoning By-law Updates – Housekeeping Amendments

The Township will be considering amendments to Zoning By-law #55-19 at a Council meeting on November 22, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. The amendments include additions and changes for the purpose of clarification; and updates to remove policy sections that are now addressed through other Township By-laws.

This forum is an opportunity for you to provide input regarding the following proposed amendments to the Zoning By-law and discuss issues related to the By-law.

  • Remove Section regarding Fences
  • Remove Backyard Chickens
  • Section 3.1.2 (b) Docks - Add wording to provide more flexibility to commercial properties
  • Section 3.16 (d) - Add wording regarding Private Lanes and Rights-of-Ways
  • Section 3.27 (c) - Add wording regarding land use compatibility studies
  • Section 3.42 Swimming Pools - Remove fencing provisions
  • Remove Garden Suite as a permitted use in Residential Waterfront and Limited Service Waterfront
  • Change Zoning designation on a property located at Lot 11, North East Range, Geographic Township of Miller to recognize the existing aggregate licence on
